When you choose the donations link above, you will be redirected automatically to a secure server where you can provide credit card information. Below are some step-by-step screen reader instructions for donating via the Internet.

Please note that while you can donate to us via the Internet, subscriptions to the magazine or other purchases should still be paid via mail or by credit card through our toll-free number 800-860-4224.

Shop Albertson's and help Blindskills

If you're an Albertson's Preferred Card holder (the card is free and easy to get), you can help Blindskills each week when you shop for groceries. Once you're signed up with your Preferred Card, go to the web site www.albertsons.com/cp/, enter your card number and phone number, and select Blindskills from the list of participating charities. The process takes about five minutes, and donations based on your shopping will help Blindskills every quarter--at no cost to you.

Using a Screen Reader on the Blindskills Donation Page, Step-By-Step

We believe the page is accessible, but we include these steps for those who may have limited experience filling out web forms. Carry out these steps to donate:

  1. Click the "Make a Donation to Blindskills now" link at the bottom of this document. You may navigate to it by tapping your Tab key.
  2. When the donation page opens, tab once to a box labeled "quick pick."
  3. Tap Enter once.
  4. Hold down the Alt key and tap the Down-Arrow key once.
  5. Now tap your Up- and Down-Arrow keys to pick the amount of money you wish to give. amounts range from $10 to $1,000. When you've selected the amount, tap Enter.
  6. Tap Tab twice; you should hear your screen reader say something like "First Name Edit" or "Edit Box: First Name." Type in your first name and tap Tab. Do Not tap Enter at this point.
  7. Now fill in your last name, and continue to tap Tab and fill in the fields as requested. You'll be expected to provide your e-mail address, street address, city, state, and more.
  8. After you've completed all the edit boxes, you should tab into a combo box labeled "Payment Options." Hold down the Alt key and tap Down-arrow once, then let up on both keys.
  9. You may now tap your Up- or Down-Arrow keys to select a payment option.
  10. Tap Tab and hear your screen reader say "next button." Tap Enter to activate the Next button.
  11. Continue to complete the form, remembering to turn forms mode or MSAA on before typing.
